The Trial Office Team

Duncan is Chief Investigator for the OSCAR Trial. He is also Director of Research for the Intensive Care Society and Clinical Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.  Duncan runs a portfolio of trials from the Intensive Care Society’s Trials Group under the auspices of the University of Oxford.

Emmanuelle joined the OSCAR team in February, 2010 and is responsible for the overall management of the trial. She has almost ten years experience in clinical trial management and has also worked in the University of Oxford’s Centre for Tropical Medicine and Clinical Trials Service Unit and for Merck-Frosst in Canada

Jo joined the trial team in July 2008 as a trainer. In 1996 she qualified as a Paediatric nurse & went on to gain a BSc (Hones) Cell & Molecular Biology in 1999, then a PhD in Immunology at the University of York in 2004. After her 10 years of studying, working as a neonatal & practice nurse she set up a Cord Blood Study at St. James' University Hospital in Leeds where she spent 2 years investigating neonatal immunology. Prior to joining OSCAR she has been working on the TracMan study, and prior to this she taught medical students at the University of Leeds.

Deirdre provides day-to-day administration for the trial. She has worked in the Intensive Care Society’s Trials Group since 2006.  Deirdre worked in quality assurance of clinical trials prior to joining the group.  Deirdre can help with any general enquiries about the trial.

Non joined the trial team in December 2008 as a trainer. She is a qualified Adult nurse and prior to joining the team was working on the adult intensive care unit at the University Hospital of Wales.

Emma joined the trial team in November 2009.  She assists Deirdre with the day-to-day administration of the trial.  Emma has previously worked for the cardiology department here in the John Radcliffe Hospital.
